Opinion of gays - Slavic parade - ruin.
Thursday, 21 May 2009

User of L[ive] J[ournal] melancholy-gay has expressed his opinion concerning the today's gay action which probably shares the majority of LGBT community.
We cite the full text of the article:

Alexeyev led a score of people to Vorobievy hills, and in five minutes OMON under TV and photo camera lenses pinched them and took to the station.

Regular "parade" for which Alexeyev has used up months of preparation and hundred thousand dollars, has finished.

After that three-minute show, will Russian society be able to understand problems of gays deeper, will be filled with understanding to them? Perhaps, next session of the State Duma will begin with work on bills which will prevent discrimination of LGBT? Or, maybe, the Kremlin which has hired for work in gas sphere the chancellor of the influential European country, is expecting with shiver in knees publications in western mass media about detention of the score of gays?

I believe, that some guys and girls were going to the "parade" with the most sincere intentions, but its organizers perfectly knew, that the action is calculated exclusively on foreign journalists. Now Alexeyev has what to show in the following half of a year during his foreign tours, and cries in the western press will hardly bring something good to the Russian gays.

Alexeyev thought to take advantage of influx of foreigners, so that to draw attention to gays? He has outwitted himself - in a couple of hours all Europe will be interested in the final of Eurovision, and not a trite dispersal of the score of gays that set out for an unauthorised action.

I am gay and can't be glad that gays were twisted arms by OMON members who should protect peaceful citizens from criminals, from aggression, from violence, therefore, I feel pity for those guys and girls who have suffered from OMON fighters. But I am convinced that tactics imposed by Alexeyev brings harm only.

P.S. Viewing a photo, I noticed that "gay Slavs" have in eyes fear and hopelessness, in contrast to the British human rights advocate Peter Tatchel. The solution, in my opinion, is very simple - Russians has no civil rights, and it applies not only to gays but to any usual ordinary citizen.
